How to pronouce Sādhanā?

Sādhanā is pronounced Sah-da-nah.

Sah and Nah are long sounds while Da is short. Proper pronunciation would have a breathy 'h' sound between the D and the A in Da.

What is an online yoga retreat?

An online yoga retreat is a virtual experience that brings the benefits of a traditional yoga retreat to your home or location of choice. Designed for the curious yoga student, it combines pre-recorded classes and workshops that help you deepen your practice and commitment. You’ll have the flexibility to join from anywhere you have reliable internet, without the need for travel. There’s also an online community of current and past retreat goers you can connect with if you choose.

What happens after I purchase the retreat?

Once you purchase your retreat, you'll receive an email with all the details you need to get started.

This will include:

Immediate access to your Pre-Retreat information. We recommend taking around 1 week to go through this information so you’re well prepared.

Immediate lifetime access to the Sadhana Circle community

Your unique login code for the retreat. When you're ready to begin your retreat, simply log in, enter your code, and you'll all set to start your journey. You have 12 months from the purchase date to activate your code.

Once activated retreats have limited access - just like an in person retreat.

- 1 day and 'weekend' retreats - 5 days access

- 5 day retreats - 8 days access.

Please note: Your access to the retreat begins once you enter your code, so make sure you're ready to dive in before logging in!

What equipment or space will I need for the retreat?

All you need is a non-slip yoga mat or blanket. Any other props can be made from household items. We give you a list of props and substitutions plus links to recommended suppliers if you choose to purchase items. You’ll also need enough space to roll out your mat with a bit of extra room around it to stretch out.

Do I need to have prior yoga experience to participate?

We recommend you have been practicing for at least 6 months so you are familiar with the alignment of postures and some of the terminology. This is not a purely asana (postures) retreat. We delve into pranayama, meditation, yogic philosophy and lots of other related topics to take you beyond the physical aspects. If you’re unsure please reach out.

We do recommend that you have the all clear from your doctor if you have any health concerns before purchasing any of our retreats.

Are these retreats suitable for pregnancy?

Our current retreats are not specifically designed for pregnancy, and some of the practices or postures included may be contraindicated during this time. For your safety and wellbeing, we recommend avoiding these retreats while pregnant unless otherwise advised by your healthcare provider or a qualified prenatal teacher.

We’re currently working on dedicated prenatal retreats that honour the unique needs of pregnancy with safe, nourishing practices - and we look forward to sharing them with you soon.

What is the daily schedule like?

On a full retreat day you would wake around 6am and go to bed by 10pm (at the latest) to coincide with the circadian rhythm cycles. During the day there are 4 to 6 different classes/workshops, scheduled meal times and plenty of time for relaxing.

Will I have access to retreat recordings after the event?

Just like an in person retreat, it’s only available for a limited time.

- 1 and 2 day retreats have 5 day access.

- 5 day retreats have 8 days access.

We highly recommend doing the retreat from start to finish without any breaks to receive the most benefits.

Is there a payment plan or scholarship option available?

Yes! Please note that a small processing fee will be added to the total price of the retreat when selecting a payment plan. This fee covers the administrative costs associated with setting up and managing the payment plan. The full cost of the retreat, including the payment plan fee, will be clearly outlined at checkout. If you prefer to pay in full upfront, you can also choose that option with no additional fees.

We offer a limited number of scholarships each month for those experiencing financial hardship. Please write to us to be considered for the next round.

What’s the cancellation or refund policy?

We are so sure that you will love our retreats that we offer a 100% money back guarantee. Please see our full refund policy in our terms and conditions.

Can I connect with other people who are doing the retreats?

Yes!  Sadhana Circle, is an online community of past and present retreat goers. With every retreat purchase, you receive immediate lifetime access. It’s a place to ask questions and make connections with other like minded students. Yoga is a very personal journey however it’s always nice to connect and share with others too. With Sadhana Circle we aim to bridge the gap between seekers around the world.

Our teachers also pop in here to offer guidance and contemplations. It’s up to you how much you are involved, if at all.

We’re committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. To maintain a positive community, we have a zero-tolerance policy for negativity, disrespect, or disruptive behaviour. We ask that everyone contributes with kindness, empathy, and consideration for others. Any behaviour that goes against these values may result in removal from the community. Let’s keep this space uplifting and supportive for everyone!

What should I know about meals during the retreat?

We provide a range of meal suggestions to suit different preferences and dietary needs. Whether you love to cook or prefer something simple - including take away, we’ve got options for everyone. Our meal ideas are designed to be easy to prepare, nutritious, and tailored to various dietary preferences, including plant-based, gluten-free, and more. We’ve even included a few recipes and tips to make nourishing meals that align with the retreat's body and mind wellness.

If you are looking for more guidance, you can book in with one of our recommended practitioners who can offer more individualised support.

Do I need the internet to do the retreat?

Yes! Please ensure you have enough hotspot data if you will be using your own or a reliable wifi connection. Each retreat will also give you an indication of streaming size requirements.

How can I get support during the retreat if I have technical issues or questions?

We understand that technical issues can happen from time to time, and we want to make sure you have the best experience possible. For common issues like video or audio problems, we provide a basic troubleshooting guide in our Pre Retreat Information to help you resolve them quickly.

We recommend reviewing the guide and test driving all of your video/audio prior to starting the retreat to resolve any issues. While we're unable to provide one-on-one tech support, we're confident that the guide will cover most situations.

Do I need to do the whole retreat?

Just like an in person retreat, the more you participate, the more you get out of it. Our retreat is intentionally designed to guide you through a progressive journey. Skipping or swapping classes may disrupt the flow and limit the full benefits of the experience. To get the most out of the retreat and ensure you’re fully immersed in the practice, we recommend following the schedule as it’s laid out.

Having said that, there are times where you need to make the best decision for you at the time.

We intend to offer retreats of differing lengths so you can choose a time frame that feels supportive.

Sadhana Retreats is a global online offering, specialising in yoga, ayurvedic, pranayama and meditation experiences. Operating out of Australia and serving a worldwide audience.

Yoga is a vast and lifelong journey, deeply rooted in Indian traditions. At Sādhanā Retreats, we do not claim to offer the entirety of yoga’s depth, but rather a bridge for those seeking to explore beyond the mainstream. We honor the wisdom keepers, teachers, and traditions that have carried these teachings for generations.

We acknowledge that we meet and work on Indigenous lands across the globe and we pay respect to elders, past and present, and acknowledge the role that Indigenous peoples continue to play within their local communities.
